The National Cambodian American Diabetes Project (NCADP) is a five-year project funded through grant number U58-DP124586 from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It is one of eight national organizations funded to cooperatively work with the National Diabetes Education Program to promote diabetes education strategies in minority communities. NCADP is a project of Khmer Health Advocates.
Our goal is to create awareness of diabetes and the negative impact of serious psychological distress (SPD) on diabetes health outcomes; bring proven diabetes education messages to at least 30% of the Cambodian community nationwide; and prevent diabetes and the complications of diabetes in those who have diabetes through increased utilization of health services.
The project is implemented at a grassroots level using effective community mobilization models and collaborates with national, state and local partners.
